McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center in Henderson will host two upcoming concerts.

On the 40th anniversary of his hit “Year of the Cat,” Al Stewart and The Empty Pockets will provide an evening of distinctive folk-rock music from the late ’60s on Saturday, Feb. 17, starting at 8 p.m.

By the time he was 22 years old, Stewart had met The Beatles and played John Lennon’s guitar, opened for the Rolling Stones, shared an apartment with Simon & Garfunkel, recorded with Jimmy Page, spent a year playing guitar for Yoko Ono and co-producing her “Film No. Four” and put a young Cat Stevens on stage at Les Cousins, where he was master of ceremonies.

He’s best known for his No. 1 hit “Year Of The Cat” from the platinum album of the same name, and his follow up album, “Time Passages,” which also went platinum.

Stewart continues to tour throughout the world, providing his fans with the music and personality that they have come to love so well.

Quirky and charismatic, The Empty Pockets deliver brash rock ‘n’ roll music with unrelenting hooks, soaring vocals, honest lyrics and carefully crafted song writing.

On Friday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m., Karen Peck and New River will spread the Southern gospel message. Over the past four years, the group has had six consecutive No. 1 songs in Southern gospel music. In addition, their current album, “Revival,” has had two consecutive No. 1 songs with “Revival” and “Finish Well.”

“Revival” won the 2014 Gospel Music Association Dove Award for Southern Gospel Song of the Year, Song of the Year for the 2014 Sheridan Gospel Network Diamond Awards, Song of the Year and Progressive Song of the Year for the 2014 Absolutely Gospel Music Awards, and the album “Revival” won Album of the Year for both the Diamond Awards and the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards.

These are just some of the awards and honors Peck and the group have earned over the years, which includes being nominated for three Grammy Awards. Join us to find out how Peck’s flawless, delightful soprano voice has made its way into the hearts of Gospel Music lovers across the country.

For tickets, contact the McGregor Hall Box Office at 252-598-0662 Monday through Friday, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
