The town of Warrenton is seeking homeowners who are interested in obtaining grant funding to make home repairs.

Town residents who own their homes and have incomes below a certain threshold may qualify for up to $40,000 in grant funding that does not have to be repaid. Income thresholds are as follows: $29,300 for one person residing in the household; $33,500 for two people residing in the household; $37,700 for three people residing in the household; and $41,850 for four people residing in the household.

The grant funding can be used for a variety of issues including repair or replacement of bathrooms, kitchens, roofing, electrical wiring, plumbing, insulation and more.

Homeowners who receive the grant funding must stay in their homes for a minimum number of years based on the grant amount.

Robert Davie, Warrenton town administrator, said that next month, staff from the N.C. Department of Commerce, the funding agency, will meet with prospective homeowners to determine potential grant projects before the town submits an application for the funding. The town may be able to apply for up to $750,000.

For information on how to apply, contact Robert Davie at 252-257-1122.
