Did you receive a gift for Christmas or your birthday that was not your style or that you couldn’t use?
If you did, consider donating it to the Ridgeway Historical Society for its Surprise Gift Box raffle to take place during the Ridgeway Cantaloupe Festival on July 13.
The Historical Society is accepting contributions of unused gifts, such as clothing, cookware, electronics, CDs, DVDs, toys, books, perfumes, bath gift sets and more. Donated jewelry does not have to be new, but should be in good condition.
Items that have been donated so far include an electric fry pan, coffee maker, picnic basket and antique ring.
These are just a few ideas of the items that will be accepted.
Gift donations should be brought to Oakley Hall Antiques & Art, 119 S. Main St., Warrenton, by the July 10 deadline, or call 919-482-2016 for pickup.
Raffle drawings will be held at 3 p.m. during the Ridgeway Cantaloupe Festival to be held near Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department in the area of the Cantaloupe Shed, 660 U.S. 1, Ridgeway. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each or $5 for six.
