Anthony “Storm” Davis Jr., 80, was called to eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 7. Funeral services will be conducted from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, in Boyd & Royster Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.

Mr. Davis, the son of the late Anthony Doc Davis and Mamie Young Davis, was born on Jan. 24, 1940, in Warrenton.

Anthony was full of life and had a loving, caring personality and a heart of gold with a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. One of his favorite pastimes was playing checkers. Anthony was such an entertaining checkers player that there would be a line of people surrounding him, waiting to see who could beat him. Not many would walk away as winners. But with every move, a lesson was learned, and a joke was told which was his technique.

For over 60 years, he worked as a brick mason and mechanic, and he had several other skills. There was nothing that Anthony did not know how to do. Even during the times when his health was getting the best of him, he could still instruct someone on how to do things, step-by-step. Anthony would fuss if you chose to listen to Google over him. His memory and knowledge were very impressive and admirable.

To mourn his loss, Anthony leaves behind one son, Antonio Davis; four daughters, Shatrina N. Miller (Gregory), Stephanie M. Hawkins (Frank Hill), Aimee E. Shadburn (Jason) and Antoinette K. Davis; seven sisters, Annie Streeter, Gladys Solomon, Henrietta Hawkins, Barbara Revers (Ewald), Deboria Williams, Brinda Williams, Shirley Holmes; two brothers, Charles Davis Sr. (Phyllis) and Climmon Davis; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
