La'Darrius Antoine Talley, 24, of Manson died Saturday, May 4 at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at United Solid Rock Faith Ministries in Warrenton by Bishop Moore H. Bynum, pastor, and Pastor John Jefferson officiating.

Mr. Talley, son of Connie T. Jones and Maurice Alston, was born May 22, 1988.  He attended Warren and Vance county schools, graduating from Northern Vance High School in 2006. After graduation, he entered the United States Navy, where he served two years.

La'Darrius will be remembered from his long and tight hugs, and his bright, cheerful smile. He was also known for telling jokes, his favorite quote, "God bless America," and making beats and music. La'Darrius loved everybody and always saw the good in people.

He attended Jacob's Well Outreach Ministries and Calvary Temple Holy Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Keyoka Spruill, and his grandmother, Dorothy Mae Alston.

La'Darrius leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Ameashia Moses of Oxford; his devoted mother, Connie Jones (Gary) of Manson; his father, Maurice Alston (Lara) of Manson; three sisters, Alana and Jaela Jones and Lashante' Spruill of Manson; a special niece, Kemiyah Bullock of Manson; his fiancé, Lorena McKoy of Henderson; his grandparents, Nannie Talley, Earl Talley, James Alston, Mary H. Spruill, Pastor James and Loretta Pettaway; his great-grandparents, Fannie M. Talley and Rosell Jefferson; seven aunts, Charine Johnson (James), Shawanda and Felicia Talley, Barbara Pettaway  (James), Doris Wilson (Nathan), Latora Banks (Arketa) and Adrine Pettaway; 10 uncles, Calvin, Tony and Bruce Talley, George Alston, James Spruill, Larry Jones (Tara), Ron Pettaway,  James Pettaway (Constance) and Christopher Valentine (Laura); his godmother, Shirley Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Richard McNeil, Chas Evans, Tyreece Hunt, Quentin Hunt, Glendale Spruill and Marshall Dunston. Floral bearers were Sakina Galloway, Denise Hunt, Nakia Williams, Tameshia Hunt, Michelle Ford, Pamela Robinson, Nicole Harris, Nyketra Davis, Kita Hendrick and Deja Taylor.

Arrangements were by Boyd's Funeral Services of Warrenton.
