The 3A State Track Meet was held Friday, May 17, in Greensboro on the campus of N.C. A&T State University.
Justin Fleming of Greensboro finished third in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 14.40 seconds and ninth in the 300-meter hurdles posting a time of 40.76 seconds. Fleming is an honor student and standout junior hurdler at Southeast Guildford High School in Greensboro. His time of 14.40 in the 110M HH was good enough to place him in the Top 5 among all N.C. high school hurdlers, which includes 3A and 4A classifications for 2019.
Fleming is the No. 1 ranked junior 110-meter high hurdler in the state for 2019.
He is the son of Jeffery and Zelda Fleming of Greensboro, and the grandson of Clement Fleming of Salisbury and the late Cora Jones Fleming, formerly of Ridgeway. He is the great-nephew of Nathaniel Jones, Jr. of Ridgeway and Warren County High School longtime retired track coach Morton Jones. His is the great-grandson of the late Nathaniel Jones and the late Annie Jones of the Ridgeway community.
