Lake Gaston resident Susie Deschenes, in foreground, and her doubles partner Linda Kidd of Norlina, both earned multiple first-place medals in the Region K Senior Games in pickleball this spring. 

Warren County pickleball players, most of them from Lake Gaston, dominated Region K Senior Games this spring and earned a number of first- and second-place finishes in singles and doubles action in their age groups. Games were played in the John Graham gym on Wilcox Street in Warrenton.

In singles, the following players representing Warren County took home medals: first place, Susie Deschenes, age group 70-74; Linda Kidd, age group 75-79; Greg Cox, age group 55-59; Tom Traylor, age 60-64; Sears Bugg, age group 65-69; Stan Brothers, age group 75-79; second place, Peggy Hefllin, age group 70-74; Sylvia Fletcher, age group 75-79; Lewis Fields, age group 65-69.

In doubles, the following players representing Warren County medaled: first place, Rayna Adams, age group 65-69; Susie Deschenes and Peggy Heflin, age group 70-74; Linda Kidd, age group 75-79; Boyd Scott, age group 50-54; Greg Cox, age group 55-59; and Stan Brothers, age group 75-79; second place, Ronald Gillespie, age group 50-54.

In mixed doubles, the following players representing Warren County medaled: first place, Rayna Adams, age group 65-69; Susie Deschenes, age group 70-74; Sylvia Fletcher and Linda Kidd, age group 75-79; Tom Traylor, age group 60-64; Lewis Fields, age group 65-69; Stan Brothers, age group 75-79; second place, Peggy Heflin, age group 70-74.

Traylor, who lives in Norlina, is playing pickleball in the National Senior Games this month in New Mexico.
