The Warren County Board of Education considered a number of personnel matters during its Sept. 13 regular monthly meeting.

The board approved the employment of the following: Warren County High School/Warren County Middle School: Lucas Paynter, agriculture teacher; Warren Early College High School: Alexandria Mayo, administrative assistant; WCMS: Carl Davis, science teacher; Northside K-8 School: Kedwin Gueling, SPLASH Spanish language immersion teacher, and Medicus Riddick, principal; district-wide positions: Aimee Anderson, substitute bus driver, and Latonya M. Kearney and Jalisa Bullock, bus drivers; central office: Kellie Barrow, front desk receptionist, and Clara Vandiford, receptionist.

The following extra-duty assignments were approved: WCHS: Shawn Peebles, assistant football coach; WCMS: April Macon, assistant volleyball coach, Ernest Fields, volunteer assistant football coach, and Eugene Yarborough and Robert Moore, assistant football coaches; WECHS: Karen Fleming, tutorial.

The board noted the retirement of Sarah Higgs-Juarez, elementary education teacher, South Warren.

Resignations were reported as follows: WCMS: Enessia Jones, math teacher; central office: Gracie Davis, child nutrition administrative assistant; maintenance department: Joe Mustian, maintenance director.

The following vacancies were reported: Mariam Boyd: third-grade teacher; Northside: behavior support intervention; South Warren: fourth/fifth-grade teacher; Vaughan Elementary School: fourth-grade teacher; WCHS/WCMS: choral music teacher; WCHS: health occupations teacher, exceptional children’s teacher, English teacher and media coordinator; WCMS: exceptional children’s teacher, school counselor and art teacher; maintenance: electrician and director; Hawkins Educational Center: alternative learning teacher; central office: administrative office for child nutrition.
