Arnold Philip “A.P.” Holtzmann, Jr., 82, of Manson, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at his home. Pastor Corey Brooks conducted funeral services at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Monday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. Burial was in the church cemetery. 

Mr. Holtzmann was born in Warren County to the late Arnold Philip Holtzmann, Sr. and Edith Herring. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace Holtzmann (wife, Lucy) and Rogers Holtzmann (wife, Barbara).

Mr. Holtzmann was a lifetime member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a fireman for 35 years and served as Chief of Drewry Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years. He was also on the Board of Directors of the ASCS Office.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Faye Tyson Holtzmann; children, Karen Paynter (husband, Gary), Teresa Frazier and Gregory Holtzmann; sisters, Evelyn Huffman and Shirley White (husband, Hal); grandchildren, Lucas (wife, Ravene’), Danielle Paynter Edgerton (husband, Justin), Hillary Frazier Richardson (husband, Kenneth), Ethan Frazier, Katelyn Frazier, Michael Holtzmann and Kiptyn Holtzmann; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Paynter and Cannon Richardson.

Pallbearers were Lucas Paynter, Ethan Frazier, Michael Holtzmann, Gary Holtzmann, Kenneth Richardson, Matthew Todd, Justin Edgerton and Frank Harris. Members of Drewry Volunteer Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family requests memorial donations to be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 114 Poplar Mount Road, Norlina, NC 27563.
